Efficiently, locally, and year-round – such yields are made possible by the vertical farming technology developed by Hydropolis. The “data-driven” vertical farming solutions provided by Hydropolis address contemporary agricultural challenges such as climate change, extreme weather events (e.g., floods and droughts), plant diseases, pests, and increasing disruptions in supply chains. The technology developed by Hydropolis is modular, easy to scale, and adaptable to any indoor space – warehouses, storage facilities. Not only does it reduce the distance from producer to consumer, thereby lowering logistics costs and CO2 emissions, but it also ensures local, very healthy food – regardless of the climate. What sets Hydropolis solutions apart from other vertical farming technologies is the ability to achieve higher yields with lower resource consumption (electricity, fertilizers) compared to competitors. This is made possible through research on Plant Growth Models conducted at the Hydropolis R&D center located in Kraków.
